National Higher Education Day

Teaching is my passion.  I've taught in the Philippines and New Zealand (high school, college, university, graduate school).  I've also presented in local and international seminars and workshops, and conducted non-formal education sessions, both of them another method of teaching.  I guess it's in my DNA (from my mother's side), since most of the family were in the academe.  Right now I'm a tutor in a training institute, what is known as a private training establishment (PTE) in New Zealand.  My students range in age from 16-50+, and they're at the crossroads of having left/finished high school and not yet starting their formal tertiary education.  I've not trained for becoming a teacher but I chose to become one.  This is my happy place!

I salute my colleagues in the academe, most especially those who are in higher education (college, university, graduate school).  Today is your day have a happy, engaging and fruitful National Higher Education Day.  It should be celebrated everyday.
